St Albans’ Holy Eucharist Primary School parents, pupils and staff enjoyed a morning tea to savour last week.

For the second year in a row, the school took part in the Biggest Morning Tea, a fundraising event to help those affected by cancer.

Teacher Jo Dragovic said it was a great show of community spirit.

“This is the second year we’ve hosted the event and it’s fantastic to see all the staff, parents and students embrace it,” she said.

“We all know somebody who has been touched by cancer, so this is our way of helping out in a small way. Events like these really bring the community together.”

The school hopes the event will top the $2000 raised last year.

“It was a great success last year and there’s no reason why this year won’t be either,” Ms Dragovic said.

“We’ve been supported by local businesses and there’s a little something on the menu for everyone. There’s savoury foods, cold foods, sweets – a bit of everything.”
