A Taylors Hill woman was verbally threatened before being car-jacked in Moonee Ponds on Monday morning.
The 50-year-old had parked her car at a carpark on Gladstone Street, Moonee Ponds about 8.30am when a man approached her.
He verbally threatened her and demanded the keys to her grey 2010 Nissan 370z coupe convertible.
The woman handed them over and the man drove out of the car park.
Police were then called to an attempted aggravated burglary at a fast food restaurant last night in Flemington where the stolen vehicle was involved.
The man entered a drive-thru in the grey Nissan about 10pm, before getting out of the car, crawling through the unoccupied window and attempting to grab the cash register.
He waved, what appeared to be a, wrench at staff to keep them away but drove off empty-handed along Racecourse Road.
Police have released a facial composite image of a man they wish to speak to (above), and the image of the stolen vehicle.
Anyone who recognises the man, witnessed the incidents or has any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report to www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
