Taylors Hill Primary School students, staff and parents have been on a mission to make sure the Christmas spirit extends to all.
For every book purchased at the school’s fair last Wednesday, another was donated to Melton council’s housing services, to be distributed to families doing it tough.
School library technician Maria Sartori said the community gesture means children whose families cannot afford the sort of Christmas gifts many others expect, can also experience the joy of reading a new book.
“Kids love to be the first person to read the book.”
The school donated hundreds of books to the council’s housing service.
