Sydenham resident crowned Miss India Australia

Sydenham’s Sanya Arora has been named the Miss India Australia winner for 2021.

The 22-year-old, who was born in Pune in India, beat out nine other finalists to claim the award which has been running since 2003.

Due to COVID, the 10 finalists were selected via online auditions and an interview process on the basis of their overall personality and talent performances.

Finalists showcased talents ranging from monologues, classical and contemporary dance, make up skin therapy skills and singing.

Ms Arora is a dermal therapist and is passionate about Indian culture, and loves contemporary Indian dance.

She’s a dancer and aspiring actor and has been performing on stage in Australia since her university days.

Ms Arora will represent Australia in the 30th Miss India Australia Worldwide 2021 in Mumbai, India in 2022 (subject to COVID restrictions at the time).

She was also named as Miss Photogenic 2021 at the awards and will be trained and mentored by Sydney-based image and personal development mentor Raj Suri.
