Keilor Lodge Reserve, the home of Sydenham Park Soccer Club, is set to receive a boost with a $500,000 grant from the Victorian Government’s World Games Facilities Fund going towards upgrading the club’s facilities.
Brimbank mayor Jasmine Nguyen said the council welcomes the funding, which will upgrade the sporting facilities and help the clubs participants.
“Brimbank Council welcomes a $500,000 grant from the Victorian Government’s World
Games Facilities Fund to upgrade sports facilities in Brimbank,” Cr Nguyen said.
“This funding is wonderful news and will be used for lighting upgrades and pitch reconstruction at Keilor Lodge Reserve, home of the Sydenham Park Soccer Club in Taylors Lakes.
“This adds to the $907,380 that has been included in Council’s Capital Works Program towards this upgrade.
Cr Nguyen said it will cater for the needs of the growing community and assured that the council will continue advocating to provide more opportunities for locals to participate in community sport.
“The funding will give grassroots football the support it deserves, and fast track facility upgrades for our growing community,” she said.
“Brimbank Council will continue advocating for our community and providing opportunities to increase participation in community sport.
“We thank the Victorian Government for their ongoing investment in sports infrastructure and helping our community play the sports they love.”
