Firefighters took just 15 minutes to control a blaze which engulfed an abandoned home in Albion this morning.
Crews were called to a house on Wyalong Street at about 7.30 am and arrived to find the weatherboard building ablaze.
The MFB confirmed the premise was empty after initial reports suggested squatters were living inside.
Victoria Police are now investigating the fire which is being treated as suspicious.
