Suspicious device left in Caroline Springs

Police are searching Caroline Springs and Hillside areas after a man left an item resembling an old army ordinance device at a Caroline Springs licensed premise this morning.

A 45-year-old Derrimut man has been arrested.

Police said the man had a dispute with staff at the Lake Street premises about 8am.

It’s alleged he left the suspicious item before leaving.

He was arrested at another licenced premises on Gourlay Road, Hillside a short time later and is currently assisting police.
