Brimbank residents are being encouraged to take part in a new survey to contribute to the health and wellbeing of the community.

Council said the survey is investigating the long-term impacts of the Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre, currently being built in Keilor Downs.

Council is working with Victoria University on the study to better understand how local infrastructure and facilities like the Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre can improve the longer term health and wellbeing outcomes for the community.

Mayor Jasmine Nguyen said the new aquatic and wellness centre is a fantastic example of how to combine social health outcomes with infrastructure development.

“This study will measure the impact of this unique facility over the long-term,” she said.

“Our aim is to learn how the combination of easy access to state-of-the exercise facilities, health and wellbeing services all under one roof benefits the health of a community.

“The information collected through this study will help council evaluate future initiatives to improve the health and wellbeing of our community, especially those in our community who experience disadvantage for a range of reasons.”

By completing the survey, residents can also go into the draw to win either a $200 Coles voucher, a six-month membership to Brimbank Leisure Centres, or 10 family swim passes.

The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete and is open until June 30.
