Australia is being urged to stand in solidarity with those impacted by sexual assault and institutional abuse by supporting National Survivors’ Day on Tuesday, November 14.
IGFF is an Australian national charity and Redress Support Service working with and for institutional abuse survivors, their families, carers and communities for over 25 years.
Events around the country will be held to recognise & commemorate the courage and journeys of Survivors of Sexual Assault and Institutional Abuse, their Supporters, and whistle-blowers across Australia, to honour those who did not survive.
Australians can get behind the cause for the entire week by, wearing a ribbon, any colourful ribbon of your choice.
Tie a ribbon anywhere, it can be your letterbox, your door-handle, your front fence.
As well as taking the pledge of recognition on social media and using the hashtags #NationalSurvivorsDay and #EveryVoice2023

IGFF chief executive Clare Leaney said she is proud that National Survivors’ Day has already become an important fixture on the nation’s calendar.
“It was established in order to acknowledge the profound harm caused to those affected by sexual assault and institutional abuse, as well as their tremendous resilience,” she said.
“It’s our aim to give survivors, supporters and whistle-blowers a similar function as other National Days of Recognition.”
