Coles has announced 11 new jobs and a new-look supermarket at Sunshine West.

The market-style supermarket was opened last Wednesday and will welcome new team members across the grocery, service and bakery departments, bringing the total number of employees at the store to more than 60.

As part of the refurbishment, new features include an in-store bakery with a range of artisan bread and baked goods, a new-look meat counter with a qualified butcher offering a ‘slice on request’ service, a brand new self-serve delicatessen and a grab and go convenience range.

Store manager Simon Paris said that the refurbishment reflects the needs of the community and offers an enhanced shopping experience.

“We think our new-look store will provide shoppers with a range of additional services, like our brand new bakery section which offers freshly baked bread every day,” he said.

“We have even had a fresh paint job with a new colour scheme and signage.

“We think this new format will really enhance the local shopping experience.”

The store has been an active community member for a long period of time, regularly fundraising for charities such as Redkite, which helps provide assistance to families affected by cancer.

The store also donates unsold, edible food to SecondBite, a charity which provides surplus food to Australians in need.

Coles The Avenue is located on Corella Road, Sunshine West and is open from 7am to 10pm, seven days a week.
