Sunshine’s multi-deck car park to open next Wednesday

Sunshine’s new $9.3 million multi-deck car park will open next Wednesday.
It comes as Brimbank council is set to rubber stamp the Brotherhood of St Laurence as the next tenant for the Brimbank Community and Civic Centre in Hampshire Road, Sunshine.
Lead West was announced as the first BCCC tenant, last month.
The seven-storey car park, between George and Dawson streets, will be open from 5.30am to 10 pm, seven days a week.
Parking is free for the first two hours, $2 for two to four-hour parking, and $4 beyond four hours.
Fewer than one-third of spaces at the new 361-space multi-deck carpark in Sunshine will be available to the public.
It will provide 113 spaces for the public, with 107 of those spaces on the first three levels.
The four other levels are reserved for council staff (140 spaces) and Brimbank Community and Civic Centre tenant partners, with 96 spaces for council fleet vehicles.
But 253 bays will be available to the public at weekends.
Chair of administrators John Watson said the entry and exit to the Brimbank Multi-deck Car Park is from George Street, off Devonshire Road.
All payments are via debit or credit card.
Parking fees will be reviewed annually.
An extension to the car park is also being planned.
