A property in Sunshine West was searched by Police early last Wednesday morning as part of a wider operation conducted by the clandestine laboratory squad.
The Sunshine West property was one of eight warrants executed on the same day in various locations across Melbourne, including Wheelers Hill, Ferny Creek, Hillside, Ardeer, Tyabb and Clayton.
According to police, a 30-year-old Ardeer man and a 31-year-old Hillside man have been charged with trafficking large commercial quantity methylamphetamine and possess articles to manufacture.
They will face Melbourne Magistrates Court on November 2.
The arrests were made as a result of suspicious border detections from the Australian Border Force (ABF).
Detective Acting Inspector Nick Allwood: “‘These arrests are an excellent outcome for community safety – these are significant seizures from what is one of the most sophisticated clandestine laboratories we have seen in Victoria.
“Be it at the border, on cargo in transit or here in Victoria – make no mistake, we will target you.”
