Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash in Sunshine West on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Mernda and Mayne streets about 4.30pm after reports a car had struck a barrier.
The driver, an 89-year-old Sunshine West man, was transported to hospital but sadly died.
The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
