A 41-year-old Sunshine North woman has been charged over a hit-run crash that critically injured a 13-year-old girl.
A damaged, dark grey 1 Series BMW was seized from a home in Braybrook on Tuesday night, however the driver remained on the run until Thursday morning.
The woman surrendered to police at the office of her legal representative in Little Lonsdale Street shortly before 11am.
The hit-run collision occurred in Coburg just after 8pm on Sunday at the corner of Sussex and Bell streets, leaving a 13-year-old girl with life-threatening injuries.
Investigators have been told the driver of a vehicle stopped briefly at the scene before fleeing.
Images and video of the vehicle that was seized have been released in the hope someone may recognise it and be able to provide details on the owner’s whereabouts.
The woman has been charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury, failing to stop after a serious injury collision, failing to render assistance after a serious injury collision and failing to exchange name and address or report a collision.
She has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
