Sunshine North man on murder charge after stabbing

A man died after a fatal stabbing in Sunshine North on Sunday night.

A 36-year-old Sunshine North man has been charged with one count of murder. He will face the Melbourne Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Emergency services were called to the Essex Street address just before 9.15pm after receiving reports of an altercation.

The man died at the scene from injuries to his upper body. He is yet to be formally identified.

Police have said the exact circumstances surrounding his death have yet to be established.
