A unique pizza base created by a Sunshine family-owned business continues to earn rave reviews.

ENK Group creates Aldi’s Casa Barelli Italian style pizza bases, which was recently named one of the Aldi’s top 100 products.

ENK Group sales and marketing director Brett Anderson said they were honoured to be recognised for the product that isn’t available anywhere else.

“We’ve had a really good working relationship with them since we’ve started,” he said.

“This particular base we’ve been making since 2014. Being a small family business we had to come up with a point of difference. We couldn’t just make a normal pizza base.

“We are honoured and it reflects well on the business.

“We’ve had growth on growth each year with the product.”

The pizza base has Italian herbs and garlic through the base adding extra flavour.

It won a major pizza base award in 2016, against bases from across all retailers.

The company has been operating since 2005 and also makes croissants, crumpets, pancakes, pita breads and flatbreads.

They are looking to set up a gluten free arm of the business.

Mr Anderson said like all business there had been some struggles during the pandemic but they had been able to work through them with the business in a good spot.
