Sunshine club pitches for visitors

Rookie Ball player Sharlotte Jansen, 8, is looking forward to future games.

The oldest sporting club in Brimbank is holding a series of come and try days.

The Sunshine Baseball Club will host free trial sessions for T-ball, rookie ball and baseball from 2-4pm, on Sunday, August 13, Saturday, August 19, and Sunday, August 27.

Junior co-ordinator Glenn Letts said the three open days aimed to “get children active in their local community”.

“No prior experience is necessary,” Mr Letts said. “Just the desire to learn and have fun.

“It’s a non-contact sport for people of all ages and abilities.”

Mr Letts said the club formed in 1938. It has 100 junior members from four years to 18.

“We have a great group of families and kids,” he said.

The club is in Barclay Reserve, 5 Talmage Street, Sunshine.
