Thieves who broke into a Subway franchise in Keilor Park this morning in a suspected ram raid and cash grab have come up empty handed.

The would-be robbers busted through the front door around 5.20am in what was believed to be a large vehicle, stealing tills and a camera from the back office.

However ,owner of the past three years, Sabrina, said the tills were empty.

“There’s no money here,” she said.

“Police believe it might have been a truck (this time).

“We’ll have to replace the entire front of the shop, replace the windows and front door, there’s also damage to the ceiling and the air conditioner.

“It will cost a few thousand dollars to fix.”

She said it was the latest break-in following a string of attempted robberies at the Keilor Park Drive store.

“There’s been a lot,” she said.

“People breaking through the front window, four or five times, breaking through the back door, four or five times, it’s usually two or three people, teenagers.”

Despite the damage the store is still serving the public and Sabrina is determined to keep running the franchise
