Illegal street trader arrested in St Albans on Wednesday (Joe Mastroianni).

On Wednesday, July 27, Police arrested a 42-year-old Newport man for selling suspected stolen goods on Alfrieda Street in St Albans.

The man had in his possession two packets of Scotch fillet steak, 39 packets of Sensodyne toothpaste, 22 makeup products and six tubs of glucosamine tablets, police said.

According to police, the items have a combined approximate value of $800.

An exchange of money was witnessed by police prior to arresting the Newport man about 9.45am.

Both the buyer and seller involved have been arrested, with the seller remanded to face Sunshine Magistrates Court at a later date.

The buyer, 59-year-old St Albans man who will be summoned to face court at a later date.
