Steptember kicking off

Cerebral Palsy Alliance is calling on Australians to join STEPtember and move the equivalent of 10,000 steps a day this September, to support people with cerebral palsy conBnue to lead full and independent lives.

Now in its 14th year, STEPtember, Australia’s most popular and inclusive virtual fundraising challenge, has grown to be a favourite and is back for 2024, to raise vital funds for people with cerebral palsy, the most common physical disability in childhood.

Last year, the STEPtember community came together to raise more than $8 million for life-changing cerebral palsy research, services and assisIve technology.

Off the back of a successful inaugural year, #STEP4Schools is back in 2024 by inviIng children and school communiIes to celebrate inclusivity, model inclusion and diversity, and make a positive impact.

Schools and classrooms around the country are encouraged to get involved by joining #STEP4Schools Day on 6 September and move their own way to 10,000 steps while fundraising to

support people with cerebral palsy. 10,000 steps can be accomplished in any way – walking, swimming, dancing, wheeling or running – it’s simply about geOng acIve and STEPping up together.

#STEP4Schools Day is a great way to kick start conversaIons about inclusivity, as well as encouraging students, staff and teachers alike to celebrate their differences.

Businesses and organisaIons are also encouraged to get STEPping! STEPtember invites staff to come together to conquer 10,000 steps together each day. It is a great opportunity to connect teams,

departments and offices with one virtual, inclusive, and fun challenge in support of people with cerebral palsy.
