A lucky St Albans man has won Oz Lotto’s division one prize … twice.
Three division one tickets were purchased in the $70 million draw – each worth more than $23 million.
Officials called the man last night to let him know he had one of three tickets, however as the news was sinking in, he realised he’d purchased a second ticket with the same numbers, pocketing more than $46 million.
The man said he needed to think about how to spend his new fortune.
“I need time for the news to register,” he said.
“I might think about retiring. First maybe a new home or a holiday.
“I’ll definitely share it with my family.”
He said he’d played the same numbers for 30 years.
“I play every week. I have always marked my entries but I have never chosen the numbers on anything in particular.
“They weren’t special before, but they are now.”
The man purchased his winning tickets at two different stores – Winning Lotteries St Albans and Footscray Lottery Centre.
