Police have arrested two men, including a 55-year-old man from St Albans, after a patrol of Alfieda Street on Wednesday, December 7.
Police observed two men carrying large shopping bags, who attempted to walk away from them. They were spoken to and a large quantity of meat was found to be in their possession.
The St Albans man was charged with handling stolen goods and committing an indictable offense whilst on bail.
A 39-year-old South Melbourne man was also charged with handling stolen goods, 10 counts of shop steal, and four counts of committing an indictable offense whilst on bail.
Both were remanded in custody.
