St Albans L-plater caught drink driving

A St Albans L-plater was caught drink driving after being detected travelling at least 40 kilometres under the speed limit.

The 20 year-old was pulled over in Donvale this morning after police noticed a car being driven erratically and travelling at 20km/h along Doncaster Road.

Police said the woman, who should have a zero blood alcohol limit,  blew 0.237.

Her car was impounded and she’s expected to be charged with several traffic offences.

A 19-year-old passenger in the car was also unlicensed.

Police have charged a 20-year-old learner driver with drink driving after she blew .237 per cent in Donvale this morning.

Box Hill police noticed a vehicle travelling at only 20km/h and driving erratically on Doncaster Road shortly before 2am.

They pulled over the vehicle shortly after and breath tested the St Albans woman who provided a reading of .237 per cent.

She was driving unaccompanied on a learner’s permit – her 19-year-old female passenger was also unlicensed.

The woman’s car was impounded and she is expected to be charged on summons with numerous traffic offences.
