Fire crews were called to George Street, St Albans on Monday morning, amid reports of explosions.
Crews arrived on the scene about 8.50am to find a garage on fire.
The fire was declared under control within 15 minutes.
Fire Rescue Victoria said the garage was severely damaged in the blaze, but there was no damage to the home.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
