A driver was caught speeding more than twice the speed limit with three passengers on board in St Albans at the weekend.
Brimbank Highway Patrol officers detected a Ford XR6 sedan travelling without its headlights on at 156km/h in a 60km/h zone on St Albans Road at 2am Saturday.
Police attempted to intercept the vehicle and the driver refused to stop.
Police said the car sped onto Furlong Road and passed the Sunshine hospital at 136km/h in a 60 km/h zone.
A short time later the car was located dumped in Bradman Street, Sunshine.
A 26-year-old male from Yarraville was arrested about 8pm Saturday and interviewed in relation to numerous traffic offences.
