The creative talents of Monmia Primary School’s pupils will be showcased to the community next week.
On Wednesday, May 23 the school will host an art show, with the unique theme of all things strange, different and unusual.
Monmia Primary School visual arts teacher Tonia Burridge said excitement is building ahead of the show.
“Every single student is represented in this, so there’s over 300 pieces of work being showcased,” she said.
“Our grade fives and sixes have done Picasso inspired portraits, our threes and fours have done 3D paper sculptures and our grade ones have done Matisse inspired collages. Our preps have also done some beautiful eagle collages. There’s some really special pieces in there.”
Ms Burridge said pupils had put a lot of time into the creations.
“The students have been working on their pieces in visual arts class, but also in class with their teachers, so there’s been a lot of time and effort put in.”
While the show is an opportunity to display the pupil’s creative talents, Ms Burridge said it’s also a wonderful opportunity to showcase the school. The show will run from 5.30-7pm.
