Shepparton woman charged over St Albans car jacking

Police have charged a Shepparton woman in relation to the assault and robbery of an elderly St Albans woman on Sunday.

Mavis Dillon, 87, was struck multiple times to the face when her car was stolen from St Albans Road on Sunday afternoon.

Ms Dillion was still recovering from her injuries at Sunshine hospital on Wednesday morning.

Police spokeswoman Amelia Penhall said a 33-year-old woman arrested in Kerang on Tuesday had been charged with assault, obtaining property by deception and three counts of armed robbery.

She has been remanded in custody to appear at the Swan Hill Magistrates’ Court today.
