Anyone still hoping to deck the halls with a new Christmas tree this year should look no further than Caroline Springs Rotary Club.
The club will be selling trees until the end of the week at the Caroline Springs Bunnings carpark.
Money raised from this year’s sales will go towards Busy Feet, a dance and movement program for children with disabilities.
Tree drive organiser David Hall says sales have been strong.
“We’ve sold quite a lot – more than we did last year, despite the recent weather putting a few people off coming out,” Mr Hall said.
“People are really happy with the trees we’ve got this year.”
Caroline Springs Rotary Club is hoping to raise enough money to send a group from Busy Feet to showcase its talents at the Rotary International Conference in Hobart next
year.
“We’ve got to raise quite a few dollars to send them to Hobart, so it’s good that we’re getting strong sales,” Mr Hall said.
“It’s been good to talk to people coming to buy a tree about where the money goes … people are always happy to help those that are in need of help at this time of year.”
Trees cost $70. The group will be in the Caroline Springs Bunnings carpark this weekend to take orders, while they will be delivering locally until December 16.
