Three rings valued at more than $20,000 were stolen from a Sunshine jewellery store by a lone female thief earlier this month.

The woman, believed to be in her late 20s, entered the store at Sunshine Market Place around 2.45pm on Friday, June 5, Moonee Ponds police say.

The woman asked to be shown an 18 carat white solitaire ring, a 14 carat white princess diamond ring and an 18 carat gold solitaire ring, which she snatched from the counter.

The woman, with the three rings valued at $20,597, was last seen running out of the shopping centre at the Sunshine Market Place exit.

Police have released CCTV images of a woman they are keen to speak to. She is believed to be of Caucasian appearance, with a slim build and blonde hair.

She was wearing a red and white top and black pants.
