A Hillside man is on a mission to help make the community more employable.
Jayden Kafanelis has spent years studying the employment system and says resumes are outdated and don’t show a potential employee’s full worth.
“Things are evolving online so rapidly, especially right now with the COVID-19 pandemic,“ he said.
“What I noticed was that the resume is not the best vessel for advertising people.
“It’s hard to truly convey skills such as video or even integrating social media – all these things are part of a person’s personal brand and add value to your net worth.“
With that in mind, Mr Kafanelis set about creating a new platform and Zygadoc was born.
A Zygadoc is an interactive snapshot of an employee, which can be exported as a PDF or launched into a personal website.
“People can jump on and custom design their doc to advertise themselves and then even host it as a website, or download as pdf and send to employers.“
Mr Kafanelis said the company has already attracted employment consultants who have signed up to trial the software with the view of using it to help coach people looking for work.
The website launched yesterday and Mr Kafanelis said it’s needed now more than ever.
“The two million people out of work need to properly advertise themselves for remote work (the gig economy) and need to build their personal brand for when Australia gets back on its feet,“ he said.
“The technology we provide is free and can help job seekers achieve high level professionalism- and advertise their skills and capabilities properly when applying for jobs or gigs.“
