Wyndham’s Relay for Life is on this weekend, and the Star Weekly team is raring to go.
About 13 staff from Star Weekly’s Werribee, Keilor Park and Melton editorial and advertising departments, plus family and friends, will take part in the 24-hour relay, which starts at noon this Saturday at Wyndham Vale Recreation Reserve, and finishes at noon Sunday.
Star Weekly has one of 102 teams taking part in the Wyndham relay, with nearly $130,000 raised to date.
Last year, the Star Weekly team raised more than $2200 in its debut Relay for Life attempt.
This year, the team is close to meeting its $5000 fundraising target, with a recent Bunnings barbecue at Hoppers Crossing bringing in more than $2800.
All funds raised will help Cancer Council research, prevention and support services.
