An Albion singer has turned a crippling experience into possibly the highlight of her career so far.
After suffering from anxiety for several years, Daniela Corso was encouraged by a friend to write about the experience the next time a panic attack hit.
The result is a new song You Break Me, the second track of her debut album, which is set to be released early next year.
“I had a bad attack one day [about six months ago]; my good friend turned around and said: ‘You need to write about that.
“It’s all about focusing on something else to get past it [the attack].
“It’s helped me putting it on paper. I really hope this song helps a lot of people.”
Daniela says anxiety doesn’t discriminate.
“It doesn’t matter how confident you are, what you look like, anxiety can get anybody,” she says. “I’m a confident person on the stage … people would never think I’d suffer from anxiety.
“I’ve been through a lot in life, a divorce, a bad relationship after that … I think it all got to me in the end.
“My heart would race, I couldn’t sleep … everything that’s small becomes so big.
“It was really terrible. But I’m coming through all that now.”
The past six months have been anxiety free and Daniela’s looking to what lies ahead.
