Sunshine Marketplace is getting on board R U OK? Day.
Shoppers at the plaza will be able to enjoy a variety of centre promotions on R U OK? Day, Thursday, September 14, while being encouraged to check in on family and friends.
Sunshine Marketplace centre manager Mark Hallowell said having regular face-to-face conversations could help build and maintain strong relationships.
“Having meaningful conversation and sparking a connection with someone is a simple gesture that anyone can do to make someone feel better,” Mr Hallowell said.
“At Sunshine Marketplace, we support and encourage spreading awareness about mental health.
“I believe R U OK? Day is a fantastic initiative that can inspire and empower the
community … We all can help make a positive difference to someone else’s life.”
A representative of the mental health initiative will also be at the plaza to answer queries and provide information on mental health from 9-10.30am.
