Police seize homemade firearms in Keilor Park

Police have charged a man and seized two homemade firearms at a property in Keilor Park.

Police were executing a warrant at the property on August 14, as part of an investigation into the alleged trafficking of drugs of dependence and possession of firearms in the area.

A 43-year-old Keilor Park man was charged with two counts of a prohibited person possessing a firearm, four counts of negligently dealing with proceeds of crime and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.

Police expect a 67-year-old Keilor Park man also at the address to be charged on summons for failing to store ammunition correctly.

During the search, police found two homemade firearms, numerous allegedly stolen identification documents and a Finks outlaw motorcycle gang jumper.

The investigation remains ongoing.
