About 300 kilograms of cannabis was seized by the Echo Taskforce in a targeted vehicle intercept in Keilor Park this morning.
A semi-trailer was stopped by police on Cemetery Road, Keilor Park, and a vehicle search was conducted. Police located a significant quantity of packaged drugs.
The driver, a 54-year-old Queensland man, was subsequently taken into custody.
Police later conducted a search warrant at a property and van in Dallas, where they uncovered further drugs.
A 50-year-old Dallas man was arrested at the address.
Police said the arrests and seizures are part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking.
Both men will be interviewed and are expected to be charged with a range of drug offences.
