Cold case investigators have called for information about a man who sexually abused a teenage girl twice in the same Sunshine paddock, four months apart, almost 30 years ago.
The then 15-year-old girl went to see her horse in a paddock near a Ballarat Road caravan park about 4pm on Saturday, March 22 1986.
She was followed by a man who was feeding another horse in a near-by paddock.
He then grabbed the girl from behind, pulled her to the ground and sexually assaulted her.
The girl managed to break free and run away.
She returned to the same spot four months later on a late afternoon on July 13, 1986, to check on her horse.
She was grabbed from behind by the same man, who threatened her with a knife before cutting her clothing and sexually assaulting her.
Once more she escaped from the man’s clutches.
Police have released an image of the man (above) who is described as about 182cm tall, of solid build and aged about 25 with short, black hair, olive complexion and a distinctive scar on the left side of his chin.
He was clean shaven and possibly wore gel in his hair.
The victim believes the man looked Italian or Greek.
The man was wearing a light blue jumper, blue jeans, black socks, light brown riding boots and a thick, gold, identity bracelet on his left wrist.
Police have also released images of the area where the two sexual assaults occurred.
