Police investigate violent home invasion

Update:

Police are investigating whether this morning’s aggravated burglary is linked to an armed robbery at a McDonald’s in Essendon.

It is believed five males entered the store on Keilor Road just before 5am this morning, smashing windows and computers with garden stakes.

A mobile phone, cash and a staff member’s debit card were stolen.

The offenders fled the scene in what is described as a small blue sedan.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police are investigating whether the vehicle is the blue 2010 Honda Civic (registration plates XRD-495)  stolen in the Taylors Hill incident.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000

Earlier:

Two men have been left with head injuries following a violent home invasion in Taylors Hill last night.

Investigators have been told four males, armed with baseball bats and crowbars broke in through a window of the Exhibition Parade home just before 1 am.

Two of the seven occupants of the house were struck to the head, sustaining non-life threatening injuries.

The four intruders stole a mobile phone and car keys and fled the scene in a vehicle belonging to one of the occupants.

The males are believed to be of African appearance and aged in their teens.
