Brimbank Embona detectives are hunting for two masked bandits after a milk bar and a grocery store were robbed earlier this month.
Police believe the robberies are linked.
The first armed robbery occurred at a milk bar on Dumfries Street in Deer Park on Thursday, February 1.
It is believed two men, one armed with a baseball bat and one armed with an axe, entered the store just before 9pm.
The pair grabbed cash and cigarettes and attempted to leave the store, but were locked inside by staff members.
The offenders forced their way out of the store and fled the scene on a motorcycle.
They were last seen travelling south along Salmond Street, Deer Park.
The second armed robbery occurred at a grocery store on Tenterfield Drive in Burnside Heights on Friday, February 2.
Police said two masked offenders attended the store on a motorcycle shortly after 4pm.
One of the men, armed with a metal pole, jumped the counter and made demands for cash.
An amount of money was handed over and the offenders fled the scene.
No one was injured during the incidents.
The offenders are described as Caucasian in appearance.
The first male was wearing a green-hooded jumper, grey pants and black shoes.
The second male was wearing a black jumper, grey pants and black runners.
Investigators have released images of two men they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.
