Police charge Sunshine West man with string of offences

Police have charged a 21-year-old Sunshine West man with a string of offences following two separate incidents in Sunshine on Wednesday, May 11.

According to a Victoria Police statement, the first incident occurred when three males allegedly approached a man riding his bicycle and pushed him off his bicycle on Ballarat Road in Sunshine North at about 10.45pm.

Police have alleged that the males then searched through the victim’s clothing and pockets for valuables but fled empty-handed and left the victim, a man in his 50s, uninjured.

Police have alleged that the three males then entered a house in Lynch Street in Sunshine and a resident of the house confronted them, before the males fled with a number of stolen items, including a mobile phone.

Police said that the males did not physically injure the residents of the Lynch Street address.

Police patrolling the area then arrested the males, which included a 16-year-old Deer Park boy, without incident in George Street in Sunshine.

According to a further Victoria Police statement, Brimbank Embona Taskforce detectives charged a 21-year-old man from Sunshine West and an 18-year-old man from Braybrook with:

* Committing an indictable offence while on bail;

* Contravening conduct condition of bail;

* Unlawful assault; and

* Possessing a drug of dependence.
