A Brimbank poet hopes is labour of love sends a strong message to readers.

Robert Neuman recently published ‘All God’s Critters’ – a book of poems he’s written over the years inspired by his love of wildlife.

“I love poetry and nature and wanted to combine the two together,” he said.

“In a way I also wanted to encourage the protection of the environment.

He said a number of his poems are inspired by his strong passion for preserving the environment.

“I’m very much against the caging of animals, I prefer them roaming free… it just breaks my heart to see that so many animals are abused.”

“There’s a theme throughout the volume which is very much against animal abuse and destroying the environment.”

“I’ll put 10 per cent of whatever I make from this book towards a wildlife charity like the RSPCA. If i can help in some small way, that would make my day.”

While he hopes his work strikes a chord, Mr Neuman said it’s already helped him immeasurably.

“I started writing poems 20 years ago to recoup following a car accident…it was my therapy,” he said.

“I was depressed after the accident and poetry helped me recover.

Mr Neuman said the book will be made available to order online in the near future.
