Plenty to do in Brimbank for the seniors festival

From croquet to comedy, bus trips to fitness balls, gardening tips to board games, seniors won’t be bored in Brimbank next month.

The Victorian Seniors Festival is back and it all starts locally in Cairnlea on October 4 with the Victorian Croquet Centre opening its doors for a come-and-try event from 9.30am – just remember to bring soft-soled shoes.

Cairnlea will also host Barrel of Laughs at the Cairnlea Community Club on the same morning, from 11, when residents can sit back for a hearty laugh inspired by a local comedian, or tell a few funny tales of their own.

Hit the high road, with bus trips to Williamstown and Botanic Gardens planned for October 6 and Cuckoo Restaurant at Olinda on October 7.

You can raise your pulse at the Westvle Community Centre, St Albans on October 5 by trying out some gentle exercise classes. Brimbank UEA will hold an open day at the St Albans centre on October 7.

Enjoy your favourite board games at the Delahey Community Centre on October 6.

The West Sunshine Community Centre will provide all the ingredients needed so people can build productive edible gardens on October 9.

The state government is providing eight days of free public transport for Victorian seniors cardholders between October 2 and 9.
