Sunshine Baseball Club is hoping to introduce a new generation of kids to the sport.
The club is hosting a series of come-and-try days over the coming weeks to give children a chance to learn more about baseball.
Sunshine Baseball Club junior secretary Glenn Letts said baseball is an ideal sport for players of all ages.
“It is a game that anyone can play, regardless of skill level and all players actively participate in the game,” he said.
“It is basically a non-contact sport, so there is less likely a chance of any injuries.”
Mr Letts said parents should consider bringing their children along to the come and try days to help them learn a new sport and make new friends.
“As the teams average 10 to 12 players, the kids really get to know each other and learn the value of playing in a team sport,” he said.
“All participants can try multiple positions and are constantly involved in the game.”
The come and try sessions are at Barclay Reserve, 5 Talmage Street, on August 11, 18 and 25 from 2-4pm.
