Picnic packed with history

History buffs who love a leisurely picnic can pack a hamper early next month for the latest Friends of the HV McKay Memorial Gardens day on the lawn.

The Heritage Garden Picnic on March 5 in the famous Sunshine gardens kicks off from noon until 4pm.

Residents are invited to bring along their picnic hampers and rugs, find a spot to enjoy the beautiful surrounds in these heritage-listed garden and, with plenty of entertainment, children’s activities, multicultural music, food vans and marquee displays at their fingertips, kick back for an autumnal afternoon.
