Brimbank has the highest incidence of homelessness in Melbourne’s west, and the largest number of people accessing specialist homelessness services in Victoria according to Brimbank council.
This Christmas, Inspire Hope is asking people to remember those in the community who are sleeping rough this festive season.
Tamara Carr, founder and president of Inspire Hope wants people not to forget rough sleepers.
“I think the biggest thing we should remember is the emotions around Christmas for some of our rough sleepers, being away from family or even just the joy/spirit of Christmas,“ she said.
“Most organisations will be doing a Christmas feast for them but are on skeleton staff. It’s a good time for us as community members to extend a little love, joy and grace for those hurting/suffering over Christmas.“
Inspire Hope strives to bring relief and support to the disadvantaged and those living in poverty by aiding in the growth of a stronger, thriving community that will serve future generations.
