Peak hour traffic chaos after truck rollover

The Calder Freeway has been re-opened inbound at Green Gully Road this morning.

The right-hand lane is now open and speed is set to 40km/h. The left-hand lane is still closed as VicRoads crews fill water safety barriers. Once that is complete, the left lane will reopen.

The spectacular truck rollover last night brought the evening peak hour traffic to a standstill.

The vehicle rolled on a bridge near Green Gully Road, Keilor and its trailer hung precariously over the road below.

Its load has spilled across all lanes of Green Gully Road.

The Calder Freeway was closed inbound at Kings Road.

Inbound traffic was diverted onto Kings Road, then the Melton Highway, onto Sunshine Avenue to the M80 Ring Road.

There are significant outbound delays, pushed back onto the Tullamarine Freeway, and on Keilor Park Drive.

Drivers should plan ahead if the Calder Freeway inbound is part of their journey.
