Taylors Lakes dirt bike maverick faces toughest race yet

Anthony Atanasovski will face his toughest ride yet later this week.

He’s clocked up more kilometres and won more tournaments this year than most 11-year-olds.

And Taylors Lakes dirt bike maverick Anthony Atanasovski will face his toughest race yet in coming days – the Australian Junior Motocross Championship in South Australia.

It’s been a steady climb to success for the grade six Springside College pupil, who first jumped on a motorbike at the tender age of three, and began racing competitively a year later.

In a few days time, he’ll start racing against the best of the best at the Australian titles in Renmark (September 23 to October 1).

Anthony, who has been trained at Parwan by manager and coach Lee Hogan since he was five, has been in good form this year.

He finished fourth overall in two classes at the recent Victorian titles, held at four different track meets across the state between March and June, and had podium finishes at several South Australian meets between May and August.

And he’s also seen plenty of regional Victoria too, travelling to Swan Hill, Cobram, Albury and Seymour for a raft of country meets between March and September, racking up wins in two classes.

“Anthony is hoping he can get through qualifying [in Renmark], which means he will be in Australia’s top 40,” proud dad Zoran said. “That’s our major goal first, then we will try our best to try and go for a win at national level.

“We are also grateful for all the people who support Anthony in what he loves doing.”

Anthony signed a sponsorship deal with BCP Pro Circuit Honda nearly three months ago.
