A new ambulance station in Taylors Lakes is finally opened.
The station which was funded by the state government in 2016, was officially opened by Ambulance Services Minister Gabrielle Williams earlier this month.
The new 24-hour station includes a four-bay garage for ambulances, four areas for our hard-working paramedics to rest and recuperate, training facilities, a fully equipped kitchen and improved security and car parking to make sure paramedics are safe.
The station is located on Eagle Terrace on a section of the property on the corner of Kings Road and Bellbird Avenue, with the entrance to be off Kings Road.
The station is next to St Luke’s Anglican Church, which is also located on the site.
“The Victorian Government is making sure paramedics in Taylors Lakes have the facilities that support them to do what they do best – save lives,” said Ms Williams.
The location of the new ambulance station on Kings Road allows ease of access to main roads and major sites including schools, shopping precincts and community facilities.
The project was delivered by the Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) in partnership with Ambulance Victoria and builder, May Constructions.
Sydenham MP Natalie Hutchins said the modern and advanced ambulance stations – like what has been delivered in Taylors Lakes- will help ensure families in Taylors Lakes and growing communities in the west receive the best lifesaving emergency care, now and into the future.
