The books were opened and the furniture used for the first time as Deanside Primary School opened its doors last week.
The school was one of 14 new schools across the state to open last week, with thousands of new students stepping into the classroom.
Principal Stuart Telford said the growing Deanside community was lucky to have a school like this.
“It has been amazing to see the kids finally come through gates and to see their smiles on their faces makes everything worthwhile.
“The smiles and their brand new uniforms were so cute.”
Mr Telford said they currently have 63 students across all grades, with them predominantly in prep.
He said they were getting more enquiries as more people moved into the area and expected the number of students to grow quickly.
Mr Telford said while the gym was the centre point of the school, there were 21st facilities across the whole school.
