Taylors Lakes girls’ teams will have extra confidence when they take to the field this season, thanks to some new uniforms.

The club was one of 34 across the state to receive new uniforms through the Toyota Good for Footy Gear Grants Program.

The uniforms have been designed specifically for females.

AFLW star Daisy Pearce visited the Lions to talk to players about the new uniforms ahead of the girls’ and women’s seasons kicking off at the weekend.

Lions president Hilary Pollock said the club was committed to ensuring all players felt comfortable in their uniforms.

“Being able to reassure our current female players and any female looking to join our club that we have a uniform specifically designed for them sets us apart from other clubs,” she said. “Knowing their uniform has been designed specifically for females will give our female players a greater level of confidence when they take the field.”

Toyota Australia chief marketing officer John Pappas said Toyota’s Good for Footy Gear Grants Program would enhance the resources available to community football clubs, with the goal of inspiring more females to be involved in the game.
