Natalie Suleyman has stormed to a resounding victory in the seat of St Albans in tonight’s state election.

With 20 per cent of the vote counted, Ms Suleyman held 73 per cent of the two-party preferred votes.

Latest results show a swing of more than five per cent to Ms Suleyman.

The St Albans electorate was re-established in 2014 after the seat of Derrimut was abolished.

Last week Ms Suleyman joined Premier Daniel Andrews in pledging to remove three “dangerous and congested” level crossings in Deer Park and Sunshine West (Ardeer), and to upgrade Deer Park train station, if re-elected.

More to come.
